Capel Iwan Archive

Interesting facts about the village

This is linked to a series of web pages, assembled by Jim Batten, from files provided by Mr. Ieuan James.
They are based on a CD ROM, prepared by Capel Iwan PTA, to mark the retirement of Mr. James in 2004, and celebrate his twenty eight years as head teacher of Capel Iwan School.

Use this link to get back to the list of sections.

This is shown on the Ordnance Survey map of the area in white (other road, drive or track - fenced).

Here is a photo of the "road" taken in 2009.

 Most out-of-action windmill
Pantybwlch wind farm at Blaen Bowi on Moelfre hill The windfarm consists of three 1.3MW, 62m diameter, windmills.
For the past 18 years there has rarely been a time when all three were in operation.

The windmills in the snow - taken in 2010.

The windmills, possibly by Turner.

As it stated on the CD, this ... is not, by any means, a "finished article", as it is hoped that future editions ... will include additional photos, memories, articles and research; which are invited for contribution by any member of the community.

Please eMail me any further images and / or information which I will then try to include in the web pages.
